I used to spend a ton of time raiding in Destiny, around 500 hours total, with a big chunk of that during the Wrath of the Machine era. I’m thinking about jumping back into the game with the new expansion, but I’m curious… how’s raiding these days? Is it similar to what it used to be? How often can I expect to raid nowadays?

Raiding right now is a bit of a mixed bag. There are definitely a lot of available raids, but many of them are mostly dead unless they’re featured that week. Since we’re nearing the end of a Destiny year, the player base tends to drop off a bit during this time. However, once the new DLC drops, we should see a boost in players and excitement for the new raid! If you’re looking to raid, I recommend getting in on the most recent ones or any that’s just had a loot refresh, like Vault of Glass.
Yeah, it’s totally true that the LFG can be a ghost town unless it’s the right time for a specific raid. Jumping into new content will likely get you more players.
