I’m curious about the first video games people actually bought or downloaded themselves. For me, the first game I ever downloaded was Fortnite, and the first one I purchased with my own money was Cyberpunk 2077. What about you? The first game I remember buying with my own money was Final Fantasy VIII. Before that, I mostly got games as gifts from family during birthdays or Christmas. The first console I bought myself was the PlayStation 2, too!
Sonic the Hedgehog for the Mega Drive was the first game I could remember playing that I owned myself. Brings back so many memories.
On PlayStation, the first games I bought were Final Fantasy XV and Final Fantasy VII Remake, actually bought them together! The first thing I downloaded was either Fortnite or the Final Fantasy VII Remake demo. Pretty nostalgic!
The first game I ever downloaded was Destiny 2, which was free to play, and the first game I bought was Final Fantasy VII. Such classic vibes there.
For me, it was Doom for the PlayStation 1 back in 1996, and soon after that I got Resident Evil. Those games really set the bar back then.
Hmm, I think it might have been Pokémon Yellow? I’m not totally sure, though, it’s been a while!
