So I’ve been hearing a lot of chatter about why they removed Hoodwink’s tree-bounce facet. And honestly, I can’t wrap my head around it. The new addition feels completely useless, and it seems like it made an already underwhelming hero even worse. Hoodwink was never considered overpowered, so why make this change? Anyone have thoughts?

While I see your point about removing the tree bounce, I think it’s important to remember that she did have some strong points that could be pretty oppressive. But it would be nice to see some balancing done to give her a solid option. Right now, she just feels kind of lost without that signature ability.
As a Hoodwink player, I think the tree bounce facet was just too strong in the early game. It made her unreasonably dominant in lanes, which went against the idea of skill-based play that requires you to time your skillshots well. But they really dropped the ball by not giving her something else to compensate after removing it. The nerf to acorn shot’s range didn’t help either, making it tricky to trade hits in lane. She needs some buffs to get back to at least being able to harass opponents effectively!
Honestly, fuck Hoodwink. I’ve never liked the character. Those weird Teletubbie squirrels shouldn’t even be in Dota, to be honest. Just feels like a silly addition to the game.
I totally agree! Hoodwink had her one strong point, being able to outplay opponents in lane, and now she feels so weak. The lack of reliable harassment options really hurts her gameplay. Losing the bounce felt like a huge blow, and now that she can’t manage lane pressure, it’s tough to see how she can bounce back.
