I’ve been hearing a lot of negative feedback about the return of the power level grind in Destiny, and I just don’t get it. If you put in the time and play the game, your level should naturally increase, right? Why do so many players seem unhappy about this? Personally, I think the system worked fine before, and I don’t see the big issue with it. Can someone break this down for me?

Many players aren’t against grinding itself, but it gets frustrating when they keep resetting levels every few months. It feels like all your effort is just taken away, and then you have to start grinding all over again. Also, going from hitting high damage numbers down to smaller ones is demotivating for a lot of folks. It’s not just about grinding; it’s about feeling like you’ve actually achieved something.
Yeah, I can’t stand that they keep pulling resources from us. It’s a drag to lose everything you earned.
The issue isn’t just the grind; it’s the way power levels are handled right now. You can’t easily stomp lower-level content or feel that satisfaction of mastering a challenge because everything is so artificially limited. If they added real rewards for leveling up, like new skills or abilities, instead of just numbers, I think people would feel more rewarded. That’s what makes RPGs fun, right?
Exactly! It’s frustrating to grind for a number and not be able to feel like you’re actually getting better.
Agreed! If Bungie gave us new skills or something exciting instead of just resetting levels, players would be much happier.
I totally get that! I used to feel great hitting those huge numbers, but now it seems like they just keep scaling everything down for no good reason.
