I’m a bit confused about what happens after you manage to save Alfira. I’ve read that, as Durge, you have some options to keep her alive, but I’m not clear on the aftermath. Does she have any additional dialogue or show up in later acts? And is it really worth it, considering most methods involve knocking her out, which may leave her unhappy with you afterward? I get that the game seems to want you to eliminate her, but I also heard Larian has changed aspects of this quest. Can anyone break down what the options are in Patch 8 for keeping her alive?

If you knock Alfira out, the character who did it will have a low approval rating with her. So, definitely don’t have Durge do that. Instead, an alternate Bard will appear at your camp that night, in case all the Tieflings are gone. After that, she becomes part of the Tiefling caravan, just like if you played as Tav or another character. In Act 2, she’ll be at the Last Light Inn and will offer a quest to rescue missing Tieflings from the Moonrise Tower dungeon. Completing that gives a sweet set of robes that boosts Charisma for cantrips—perfect for Warlocks or Sorcerers. You don’t need her quest to rescue the Tieflings, but you’ll miss out on the robes. Expect some interesting dialogue in Act 2 and 3 as well!
Bards can use cantrips too, so those robes will be handy!
You’ll also receive a letter from Alfira at the epilogue party, which adds a nice touch to the endgame.
To get the Quil scene at camp, just knock her out using non-lethal attacks after crossing the creek to the Blighted Village. You don’t have to keep knocking her out every long rest; just one time after crossing that stream will trigger the scene. If done right, you’ll see her again at Last Light Inn in Act 2 and can grab those powerful robes if that’s your goal!
Actually, you don’t need to knock her out continuously. Just once after crossing the creek is enough!
I don’t think Patch 8 changed much regarding her. If you knock her out and save the other Tieflings in Act 1, she’ll definitely appear in Acts 2 and 3. I believe she even has some special dialogue about escaping her fate, plus she serves as a quest giver and hands out great rewards for Warlocks and Sorcerers. Also, there’s a ‘save Alfira’ mod if you prefer an easier route!
Just so you know, Alfira still appears even if you don’t convince Rolan and his siblings to stay!
Thanks for clarifying! I totally forgot she just joins the crew anyway.
