I’ve noticed some players have concerns about the power level grind returning in the game, and I’m trying to figure out why. Is it that the grind itself is problematic, or is it something else? Personally, I thought as long as you’re playing the game, your level should naturally increase. But apparently, not everyone feels the same way.

Honestly, it’s about feeling like our progress actually matters. Right now, it’s just like chasing a number—there’s not much meaningful reward since every season resets that ‘progress’. In most RPGs, leveling up gives us new skills or abilities, but here, it feels empty. If Bungie added real rewards for leveling up, I think it would change the game for the better.
Exactly, it’s like working hard for nothing. If they just gave us new abilities or something cool, it’d feel more satisfying.
A lot of people feel like the grind isn’t worthwhile. The game has become too focused on resetting progress for the sake of player engagement. It gets tiring to keep grinding the same activities to unlock content we’ve already accessed before.
Right? It’s so repetitive, doing the same thing over and over just to get back to where we were.
Exactly! We just keep playing to chase those same goals without ever getting a satisfying payoff.
The issue isn’t so much the grind itself returning, but rather how levels are constantly reset every few months and the frustration that comes with it. Players are being told to grind for materials only to lose their progress soon after. Plus, going from hitting massive damage numbers to much smaller ones can be pretty disheartening, even if mechanics-wise it doesn’t change anything.
Yeah, I get what you’re saying. I think smaller numbers can be easier for the game’s systems, but it still feels sad not seeing those epic big numbers anymore.
Exactly, I really wish they’d just let us keep what we earned rather than taking it away every season.
Many players just want to be able to enjoy the game without feeling pressured to grind all the time. For some, the grind can feel tedious and overly artificial, leading to burnout, especially when resets happen frequently. There needs to be a balance between grinding for progress and actually experiencing new content without arbitrary roadblocks.
Agreed! It’s all about the fun of playing without the constant grind pulling us back.
That’s so true! If they could find a balance, I think more players would stick around.
It all boils down to how power levels are perceived in the game. For a lot of players, it’s just a number that’s okay to see rise, but doesn’t really mean you’re getting more powerful in any real sense. It’s frustrating when you put in time to level up, just to find that every few months that effort is nullified.
I totally feel that. It’s less about enjoying the game and more about grinding for what feels like nothing.
Exactly! If they just left our levels intact and focused on new content or challenges, it would be so much better.
Totally agree! If every level gave us something new, it would make the grind feel less pointless.
