I’ve gone through the game multiple times and have romanced nearly all characters except Wyll and Halsin. This round, I’m planning to pursue Wyll, but I really don’t want to trigger the Avernus ending for him. My strategy is to push him to become a duke instead. However, this might lead to Karlach facing a grim fate unless Wyll insists on taking her to Avernus despite our plans. Should I just cut my losses and eliminate her right off the bat in Chapter 1, or is it worth it to endure the emotional impact later on? I’ve tried saving Orpheus and converting her into a mindflayer before when I was pursuing Lae’zel, but that didn’t sit well with me.

If your goal is to stick to Wyll’s story without involving Karlach, just snipe her from a distance in Act 1 before she can really get involved. It saves you from the pain of watching her demise later.
I totally romanced Karlach, and I’m intrigued about what the ending would actually be if she becomes a mindflayer, especially after going to Avernus with her. By the way, what’s your plan for Wyll? Are you looking for a horn or Mizora’s early deal? Just curious if you’d mind missing out on Karlach as a companion.
Have you thought about doing an embrace durge run? You could take care of both Wyll and Karlach, if that’s an angle you’re willing to try.
That’s funny, I’m also on a Wyll run! I wouldn’t kill Karlach; that feels too harsh. Their chemistry’s awesome, and I’m not really keen on making him a duke. I’d rather head to Avernus with her. Just my two cents!
I get what you’re saying! But since I’m actually romancing Wyll instead of playing as him, I feel like his content gets overshadowed if I take him to Avernus with Karlach. I mean, those two have a great connection too.
