Zarami Priest can be tough to beat because it puts decent early pressure and then pulls off a combo that can one-shot you. I’m wondering if playing an aggro deck is the only reliable answer, or if there are other strategies. I’ve thought about including Dirty Rat to disrupt their combo, but I’m not sure if I can clear their early board and deal with the big dragon they steal from your hand at the same time. Any advice or tips on how to handle this Priest?

Control warrior with Ysondre and the 4 damage blocking weapon really tears Zarami Priest apart. It’s kind of ridiculous how easily you can shut down their damage with that setup compared to other methods.
Aggro decks are probably the most straightforward way to deal with Zarami Priest, but not the only option. Control or midrange decks can hold their ground since the Priest’s early board pressure usually isn’t overwhelming. Dirty Rat can help disrupt the combo, though it’s not a guaranteed win — Zarami Priest is generally a tough matchup for control decks no matter what tech cards you add.
Honestly, Imbue Druid seems to give Zarami Priest a lot of trouble. The steady stream of 5/5 minions from the hero power can really shut down their big dragons and board control, making it a surprisingly good counter. So if you want something besides aggro, try running an Imbue Druid deck.
That’s interesting! I’ve noticed when Druids drop big minions, my Briarspawn Drakes don’t hold up well, so I might need to rethink my approach there.
I managed to beat a Zarami Priest by stalling out their combo turn and then surviving a few turns after. Eventually they ran out of cards and had no deck left, so they conceded. I played a Handbuff DK deck with huge minions that could trade effectively with their big drakes. It was a close call, but surviving the combo turn can totally turn the tide if you have the right tools.
I’ve had decent success with a freeze/armor mill Warlock built for dragon ramp. If the Priest can’t finish you by turn 8, you generally take control with plenty of stalling and healing options.
Yeah, control feels kind of weak against this archetype. Might just be better to stick with faster decks instead of trying to out-control it.
