I’ve been experimenting with loadouts in this fantasy game and initially tried to avoid using guns because, you know, they don’t feel very ‘fantasy’ to me. But I eventually gave in, and now I’m really enjoying the combo of a pistol and a one-handed weapon. It’s a great mix; I can shoot at range and then switch to my sword for close combat. The timing works well too, with the slower gun reload time allowing for sword swings in between shots.
I did try a grimoire with the gun, but I found it too slow because I’m always waiting for cooldowns and reloads. I want to know what others are using for their second loadout. Should I consider a wand and grimoire, maybe go with more guns like an arquebus, or do a shield and spear combo? I honestly feel like I can stick with just my sword and gun throughout the game, but I’m curious about other options!

I personally prefer the arquebus to start taking down enemies from a distance, and then finish them off with the sword or pistol. There’s a neat ability where you can reload your guns while swapping, which makes transitions super smooth!
I usually swap between magic and pistol combos. When things get too close, I switch to a two-handed weapon for more damage. It’s a solid strategy!
That sounds like a cool approach! A 2H build with heavy armor could be really powerful.
This time, I’m focusing on all magic gameplay. Next run, I think I might go for a two-handed sword combined with an arquebus, plus some heavy armor for tanking!
I love going with double pistols! You can either charge both shots or stagger them, keeping the fire going non-stop. It really keeps the pressure on enemies!
I’ve never really used pistols. Can you reload one while firing the other?
Totally agree, and with the right talents, you can stun-lock them, then pull out an arquebus for those crit moments.
There’s a unique Arquebus you can get in Zone 2 after completing a side quest for the Ranger Captain at Ranger HQ!
