What's the Best RPG System for a Lovecraftian Superhero Campaign?

-

Hey everyone! I’m new here, but I’ve been lurking for a while. I’ve got a campaign idea inspired by a mix of Guyver, Kamen Rider, Venom, and, more importantly, H.P. Lovecraft’s mythos. The premise is that players will take on the role of human hosts for alien entities connected to the Great Old Ones. These symbiotes grant unique superpowers and a cool bio-mechanical armor. However, I’m struggling to choose a suitable RPG system for this concept. I’m considering either ‘Deviants: The Renegades’ or something more general like Chaosium’s Basic System. Any recommendations or advice?

You might want to check out ‘FATE of Cthulhu’! While it may not fit perfectly, it offers some great mechanics worth borrowing for your theme.

Honestly, go with a supers system you enjoy! You can adapt the mechanics for powers easily. I suggest ‘Savage Worlds’ for its flexibility. Also, keep an eye on the upcoming edition of ‘Cthulhutech’; they might streamline things and focus on the bio-armor elements you’re interested in!

Totally agree! I’ve heard good things about ‘Savage Tokusatsu’ as well; could be another solid choice for that vibe.
