I stopped playing after legacy weapons were removed and used to run an unyielding bloodied legacy weapons build. With all the recent changes — new perks, buffs, nerfs, and new weapons — I’m curious what the current meta looks like for non-power armor players now. What builds, weapons, and perks are working best lately?

If you can stack the Furious perk to max, it’s currently one of the highest damage options on paper, especially for non-power armor builds. Heavy weapons got some changes that make running a heavy VATS build way more viable now. For example, the pepper shaker is great for sustained damage—didn’t run out of AP once while testing a crafted build. DOT damage on melee got buffed too, but I still prefer raw hits over damage over time.
Explosive energy weapons have made a comeback! They aren’t as crazy strong as before, but still perform well and can be a solid choice for non-PA builds. I’ve heard people talking about the V63 weapon being popular — might be worth trying it out if you’re into energy weapons.
The new Onslaught perk cards are pretty solid. Pairing the Furious perk with Overeater (for full health regen) and a Conductor’s Body Armor, you’ll barely run out of AP when you combine that with Limit Breakers on your armor. It makes surviving much easier since you can keep up the damage and don’t have to worry about action points running dry.
Thanks! That sounds like a good combo to check out.
Yeah, I heard about the V63 too! I’ll definitely give it a shot.
