I’m new to using a Steam Deck and I’ve been enjoying playing low-intensity open-world activities from my couch. My last gaming experience was with a PS2, so I’m still getting used to playing with a controller after spending years on PC with a mouse and keyboard. Currently, I’m playing a Weaver, which I find quite challenging in demanding combat situations, especially against veteran NPCs since it’s a high APM and rather squishy class. I’m looking for the complete opposite: what’s the tankiest, laziest class for open-world content like world bosses and meta events? Ideally, a ranged class would be best so I can tag bosses or NPCs from a safe distance and have more time to react to attacks as I try to farm for legendary trinkets.

Check out Herald! It’s potentially the best option. Just click on your facets, pick the tank traits, and you’re almost unkillable while dishing out solid boons with minimal effort.
Herald with Celestial gear is also a fantastic option. Hard to die while doing decent damage, and the input is pretty low. Perfect if you’re just looking for a chill experience.
You might want to try a Power Reaper. It has an insane damage-to-survivability ratio, and it’s super easy to play. You pretty much just stand there and deal damage without needing to worry too much about mechanics.
I’d recommend going for a Mechanist with a ranged weapon. The power variant is great, but even just equipping signets can make it a very easy class to manage.
Rifle Power Mech is another solid choice! Just stick to the rifle skills and you’ll find it’s really straightforward to play. Dying is tough as long as you use the right traits.
