Hey everyone! Microsoft has announced they’re discontinuing Windows 10, and my PC can’t handle Windows 11. I’m considering switching to Linux, but I’m overwhelmed by all the different distros out there. I mainly game and watch YouTube on my PC, which has an Intel Xeon E5-2680 v4, an RX 580, and 16 GB of RAM. Any recommendations for the best Linux gaming distro? Thanks for any help!

First things first, check out ProtonDB to see if your favorite games are compatible. If they’re silver-rated or higher, you should be good to go! Also, keep in mind you might need to find alternatives for software that isn’t supported on Linux. As for distros, I’ve been enjoying Bazzite lately. It’s based on Fedora Atomic and is designed specifically for gaming. It’s low maintenance and has solid documentation to guide you through the setup. You can find more about it at their docs site!
Honestly, the best distro is the one that works for you. Try out a few and see which one fits your style. You can’t really go wrong—just dive in and experiment!
Totally agree! I’ve used Bazzite on my own gaming rig and it just works, no hassle!
