Hey everyone! I just ordered my Steam Deck and I’m curious about what grips are most comfortable for adult hands. I’m not interested in any extra features like kickstands or cases; I just want something that feels great to hold with good grip and ergonomics. I usually play on my couch or in bed, so protection isn’t a big concern for me. What do you all recommend for pure comfort and ergonomics?

For me, the Steam Deck feels fine without any grip. I’m used to a standard Xbox controller, and I find both comfortable. I did add some bumpers to make the bottom buttons more tactile, but that’s about it. Just keep in mind, it’s not quite as comfy as a Nintendo Switch for handhelds.
I really like the Skull & Co GripCase. It gives you a nice feel when holding it, and it’s pretty ergonomic. I’ve tried the JSeaux mod case, and the stand was flimsy. The Deckmate’s kickstand broke off too. I’d recommend sticking with the Skull & Co if comfort is your priority!
I’ve been using that case since I got my Steam Deck too. Honestly, it’s more comfortable without a case, but I’m all about that little extra protection.
I’ve had the Skull & Co for a while, and it’s solid. I never look back since it fits great!
Hey, do you have your Deck yet? You might wanna try it without a grip first. I’ve never felt it needed one at all!
So, do you actually mean ‘adult hands’? It’s funny you mentioned that since not all adults have the same hand size, lol. I myself have bigger hands, like 8 inches from wrist to fingertip, and I think the Steam Deck is pretty decent for grip.
Haha, I get what you mean! I have medium-sized hands, and while it’s fine, I still feel like a little more width would be better for extended gaming.
I’ve been using the Skull & Co GripCase too, and I think it makes the Deck feel more natural to hold, almost like a controller. A lot of folks also rave about the Killswitch from Dbrand, but that seemed overpriced for me. Just getting the GripCase and some extra games felt like a better deal!
Yeah, Killswitch seems more suited for travelers. I’m more into the Skull & Co for its grip. Thanks for the tip!
I checked out the Skull & Co GripCase, and it strikes the right balance. It gives enough grip without bulkiness, making it comfortable to hold.
Couldn’t agree more! I owned both, and honestly, I still wonder how Nintendo makes handhelds that are so tough on the hands.
