I’m in the market for a gaming laptop within a $1600 budget but getting lost in the technical stuff like processors and other specs. I’m hoping for some recommendations on laptops that can handle games smoothly without issues. Any advice would be awesome!

I’d say, at least in the gaming realm, going with an i5 might not cut it if you want to run games smoothly. Look for something like an MSI Strix with an i7 or better. Also, aiming for 32GB RAM with a 4080 graphics card should give you solid performance with most games.
If you’re shopping in the US or Canada, check out the Lenovo Legion series. Both the Legion 5i Pro and 7i usually come with a 4070 GPU and 32GB RAM, which are prime choices for gaming prowess in your price range.
