Hey everyone, I’m diving into Oblivion and I’m curious about creating an Argonian character. What do you think is the best build for them? I’m also torn between my birthsign choices and need some advice on what skills I should focus on.

Don’t forget about the classic builds: pack mule, gardener, spell test dummy, or, uh… seductive maid! Just kidding about that last one! But really, read up on your people’s lore; it might inspire your build!
Honestly, it doesn’t matter too much anymore since you can max out all skills now. I’d suggest picking Acrobatics and Athletics as your main skills for something fun. After that, choose your other skills based on your playstyle, like Blunt, Heavy Armor, Block, Restoration, or Conjuration for a cleric build.
The best build really comes down to what interests you! If you’re into min/maxing, go for a sneaky blade build. With the Arenisa origin, you’ll get boosts to agility and speed. If magic is more your thing, try focusing on Illusion and Mysticism with the Thornmarsh origin. Just keep in mind that Argonians have slightly lower endurance and personality, which can impact interactions with NPCs.
Argonians are pretty versatile! I went for roleplaying over power and picked the Shadow birthsign, making my character a shadow-scaled assassin who dabbles in both magic and stealth. It’s a lot of fun! You can really experiment with different styles since the leveling is more forgiving now.
