Hey everyone! I’m putting together a new PC after sticking with AMD for years, but this is my first full-time build with Linux. I’ve dabbled in Linux before and even built a computer for my son that runs Ubuntu, which he’s done well with (he mostly games but also codes). I want to make sure I choose a solid motherboard, and I’m looking at brands like Gigabyte, MSI, and possibly ASUS. I know ASUS used to be pretty pricey, but I’m not sure if that’s still the case.
My main concern revolves around driver support for Linux. Are there any brands that stand out as better or worse for Linux compatibility? Is there anything else I should keep in mind when making my decision?

When picking a motherboard, especially for Linux, you should definitely check the compatibility of the networking hardware, like the WiFi and LAN chips. These can make a big difference in your experience!
What should I be looking for other than support for the latest WiFi 7 standard?
