Hey folks! I’ve just picked up a Sapphire Nitro+ RX 7800 XT graphics card and I’m trying to find the best Ryzen CPU that fits on the AM4 socket. I primarily use my PC for 1440p gaming, video editing in DaVinci Resolve, and some light tasks in Photoshop and Illustrator. I want to make sure I avoid any bottlenecks and fully utilize the RX 7800 XT for both gaming and productivity. Any recommendations? Thanks!

Have you thought about what CPU you’re currently using? Also, what’s your budget? If you’re not prioritizing video/photo editing over gaming, the 5800X3D is a great option for gaming. But keep in mind, it’s been end-of-life for almost two years, so consider the 5700X3D instead. If your workload is primarily light, I wouldn’t go for something as heavy as the Threadripper. But if you want a high clock speed and can stretch the budget, the 5900X might be worth considering.
I’d recommend going for the Ryzen 5700X3D. It’s a solid choice and performs really well. No need to spend extra on the 5800X3D since the performance boost isn’t much for the higher price. The 5700X3D will give you great performance in both gaming and editing without breaking the bank.
