Hey everyone, I’ve just wrapped up SOMA and loved the narrative aspect, though I missed the action. I’m on the lookout for story-rich games with solid action elements for PC on Steam. I’ve got Bioshock, Prey, and Dishonored lounging in my library for ages—are they worth diving into for both story and action? Let me know your thoughts!

I’d suggest giving the Mass Effect Legendary Edition a shot. While it’s more of a space opera than a traditional action game, it’s packed with gripping stories and solid combat mechanics. Plus, it’s on a crazy discount right now on Steam.
You should definitely check out The Last Of Us. It balances stealth and action really well, plus the story is absolutely incredible—seriously, you’ll wish you could experience it for the first time all over again.
Hades might surprise you. I know it’s not exactly an action game in the traditional sense, but the storytelling mixed with the combat is phenomenal. Every time you go through a run, you get pulled deeper into the narrative, and it’s unusual for games to combine these elements so well.
Bioshock and Prey are both fantastic for story-driven action, especially if you like finding audio logs and piecing together narratives. If you’re patient, Dishonored’s stealth mechanics offer an intriguing way to experience its world-building and environmental storytelling.
You’ve got to try NieR: Automata. It’s got a mix of deep, thought-provoking narratives and kick-ass action scenes. The story really stands out, especially if you liked the philosophical themes in SOMA. Plus, the gameplay is just as engaging as the storyline.
Thanks for the recommendation! I’m usually not very patient, but I might give Dishonored a try just for the story.
