What's Next for Nintendo After the Switch?

-

Nintendo has been known for its iconic gaming consoles, transitioning from standalone systems to handheld devices over the last few decades. With the enormous success of the Switch, which cleverly combines both TV and handheld gaming, fans are wondering what the future holds. With rumors of a Switch 2 and beyond on the horizon, some are questioning if there’s even a need for separate handhelds or TV-only consoles anymore. Additionally, could Nintendo explore new frontiers like VR or AI gaming? Or will they stick to improving the versatile Switch concept? What are your thoughts on the future of Nintendo consoles?

Honestly, I just want to enjoy the current generation without stressing over what’s next. If they just keep making Switch versions, I’m good with that! The Switch is the perfect setup; it just needs a little more juice. Maybe they could even reintegrate the 3D features or create more spatial gaming experiences.

Totally agree! If they keep it in the vein of the Switch, I wouldn’t mind them calling it Switch 3, 4, or whatever they want for years to come!

I think we’ll definitely see a Switch 3 at some point. The Switch itself is such a solid idea that I wouldn’t be surprised if Nintendo just keeps building on it. They don’t really need to branch out into something completely new, especially when the hybrid model is working so well.

But what happens after Switch 3? Don’t you think they’ll eventually want to try something completely different?

I see Nintendo going full throttle into VR once the tech gets cheap and reliable enough. They’ve dabbled in VR and 3D tech multiple times, and it could be a big hit if they manage to pull it off well. It might not happen immediately after the Switch 2, but I think it’s on their radar.

VR is pretty hit or miss right now, though. The market’s a bit stagnant, so I’m not sure how soon they’ll dive into it.

Link_And_Legend -

I hope they consider accessibility for us folks who can’t handle VR for long. I’d love to see more Nintendo games in VR!

They’re probably going to push out the Switch Lite concept more. Honestly, a powerful version made just for TV could hit the market too, like a Switch Pro. But that might require a shift in their game development process, which could get pricey.

That could be a problem. New hardware usually means new games designed for those specs, which can be quite the investment.

SwitchFanManiac -

It’s high time they figure out a way to integrate more with other devices. Imagine docking your phone or PC to your Switch to enhance gameplay or play with better controls. Nintendo’s competitors might not worry them as much as tech innovators like Valve, which is where they are likely focusing their attention.

That could be cool, but it feels more like an accessory rather than a completely new console.
