Hey everyone! I used to be really into Clash Royale back in 2018, but I’ve been away for a while and recently I’ve heard a lot of talk about Supercell shifting focus from Clash Royale to Clash of Clans. Can anyone fill me in on what’s going on with Clash Royale now? What changes have happened that got everyone so upset?

If you want to catch up on the changes, there’s a video that breaks it down well. Basically, recent updates have made progress slower for everyone, whether you pay or not. Meanwhile, Clash of Clans has been rolling out some great updates that contrast sharply with the issues in Clash Royale. They’ve made improvements that players are really enjoying, like removing training times and streamlining troop donations.
After being away for two years, I came back to find the game vastly different. The EVO cards are tough to handle, and they’ve completely changed the chest system. Now it feels like progression has slowed down, especially with the insane requirements to upgrade cards. Honestly, it just lost its fun for me. I ended up deleting it and switched to Clash of Clans instead.
A lot has changed with Clash Royale recently. Many players feel that it’s become less strategic and more pay-to-win. Supercell made adjustments that seemingly favored paying players, which left free-to-play users feeling abandoned. Instead of delivering fresh content and updates, they focused on monetization, making it frustrating for long-time players.
So basically y’all got EA’d, huh?
Honestly, if you’re unsure about all this, just hop on YouTube or check out the Clash Royale subreddit for a quick rundown on the complaints. You’ll find plenty of players discussing the recent changes.
I’ve played CR for like 7 years and I still have no idea what they are complaining about.
They removed chests and essentially halved progression for free-to-play players. It’s made the game more complex and less enjoyable than it used to be.
Thanks a lot for the info!
