Hey everyone, so I’m pretty new to League, playing in Iron since late last year, and I’m concerned about Skarner. It feels like he’s getting nerfed constantly despite being ranked poorly overall. He’s dropped from being a top 20 pick to now being considered the worst jungler with a 44% win rate. What’s the deal? Is he too strong in pro play or something? Are we expecting any buffs for him? Should I be switching to Darius since he’s doing well right now? I really like Skarner’s playstyle and tankiness, but it feels frustrating to play him right now. Should I just give up and try another champion like Zac?

Honestly, they’ve let Skarner sit in the shadows for ages. The fact he was rebalanced positively for a bit was surprising. Now, he’s got great crowd control but his damage just keeps getting nerfed, which isn’t fair. In professional matches, he can still shine because of his CC, but I wouldn’t count on him in solo queue right now.
Pro play is where Skarner still has some weight. I watched JunJia crush it with him last night. It goes to show that his CC can be game-changing, even if his damage is toned down. If you’re looking to play Skarner effectively, just watch how skilled players are using him right now—it might give you some ideas.
Yeah, JunJia’s playstyle really showcased that he can still be a force in the right hands. Just remember, it can be tough at lower ranks.
Yeah, it’s a tough spot for Skarner right now. Balancing him for both solo queue and pro play is really tricky. He’s got a lot of power, but when he’s too strong, it messes things up in pro play. Still, his low win rate is pretty rough—44% is really low compared to other champions who might be underperforming. They might eventually tweak his kit, but don’t hold your breath on that happening soon.
Azir had some similar struggles a while back, but his redesign helped a lot. Skarner might need something similar if they want him to be viable.
It’s definitely because Skarner needs teamwork to shine. Without solid coordination, he struggles a lot compared to tank junglers.
But his two suppression abilities are kind of over the top, right? Maybe that’s why they’re being so cautious.
