I’m a truck driver and I spend a lot of time on the road, which means I can’t always rely on being home for long stretches. Last time I was back home, I forgot my Steam Deck charger, and now I’m stuck without a way to charge it while I’m on the road. The only store I can access that allows truck parking is Walmart. I’ve tried using the USB ports and 12v adapters in my truck, but they don’t provide enough power. The Steam Deck keeps booting into a menu and then dies. Does anyone know if Walmart carries any chargers that would work? Would a Nintendo Switch charger do the trick?

Yep, look for a charger that’s 45W, like 15V @ 3A and supports PD 2.0. If you have a 120VAC outlet in your truck, you could check out something like the Samsung Super Fast Dual Car Charger available at Walmart. It should work great!
You’re gonna need a USB-C charger that outputs 15V at 3A, which is basically a 45W charger. Just make sure to check that it can actually deliver that power. Walmart usually carries a few options!
I totally get it! I keep snatching my kids’ Nintendo Switch chargers when I can’t find mine. They can charge fast enough, so it’s worth a try if you can find one at Walmart.
Sweet, I do have a 2000W power inverter in my truck. I used my original charger without issues, so I’ll keep an eye out for that Samsung charger. Appreciate the tip!
