What TTRPG is Best for a Suicide Squad Style Campaign?

-

Hey everyone! My TTRPG group is about to decide on our next campaign, and I’m really keen on running one set in the DC Universe where players would take on the roles of super-criminals drafted into Task Force X, aka the Suicide Squad. I’m looking for suggestions on what roleplaying system would fit this theme. I haven’t found any that work well with my experience so far, so I could really use your recommendations!

You might want to check out Shadowrun 4E. It’s got a mix of intense gunplay and investigation skills, which could work nicely. Just be prepared with a ton of dice though!

Hmm, do you think it would work for superpowers? I know at least one player is going to want to have them, and the campaign would be more about covert ops than investigations.

The DC Universe RPG, which is basically Mutants & Masterminds 3E, could be a great fit for your campaign. It has the superhero mechanics you need for a Suicide Squad scenario!

Wait, are those actually the same game? I’ve heard of both, and it’s kinda confusing!

Outgunned could also be a viable option, especially with the superpowered elements in mind. It’s not a perfect fit, but you can probably tweak it to suit your needs!

Yeah, I’d second that recommendation; it could definitely work!
