Hey everyone! I’m a new player diving into Baldur’s Gate 3, and I could use some advice. What are some key things you wish you had known when you first started? I’m talking about important tips like keeping certain items for later, choosing the right companions for specific areas, or any other insights you think could help. Right now, I’m playing as a feylock (not using the parasite because the dream visitor seems pretty shady), I took out the goblins (except for Minthara), and I’m exploring the gnoll part of the game. I’ve had some rough encounters, especially with that caravan, but I’m managing since I turned Karlach into a bearbarian! Still need to tackle the hag quest too.

Here’s some beginner advice I really wish I’d known: don’t sell that random broken stick you find on the dead dwarf! Also, explore every nook and cranny—you’d be surprised what you can find hidden in bushes or on skeletons. Just watch out for empty vases; many of them are just traps!
Right? And sometimes annoying the Githyanki queen leads to unexpected outcomes!
I wish I’d known to split vendor gold into stacks of 100 for easier pickpocketing! It makes the DC way lower. Now I’ve got tons of gold even before hitting Act 2!
Don’t freak out about using Haste; it’s actually amazing! I avoided it because it sounded risky, but it really boosts your gameplay.
For real! It’s a game changer!
One major thing to keep in mind is that time pressure for finding a cure is pretty much non-existent. Don’t rush, explore at your own pace! I recommend tackling the Underdark before heading to the mountain pass for a better experience. Also, if you have an ally or summon close to an enemy, you can trigger sneak attacks. And don’t forget, minor restoration can get rid of that pesky bloodless condition.
Totally agree! The only time sensitive quest is for Halsin, but honestly, you can still take your time.
Exactly! Plus, the Underdark has some super cool loot!
Make sure to start every day with your buffs after resting! Set up elixirs and spells like long strider and aid. If you’re prepped, you’ll find you can long rest much less often since you’ll be a powerhouse. I learned that the hard way—I finished my last game with 120 enchanted arrows left!
True! And just remember, most seemingly impossible situations can end well if you play it right!
