What the heck happened in Apex since I last played?

-

Hey everyone! I just jumped back into Apex Legends after being away since Season 14, and I’m honestly confused by all the changes. I noticed new things on the drop map, like ammo signs and those replicator boxes with guns in them. Can someone explain what’s going on with weapon upgrades and whatever else has changed? I tried looking for videos, but couldn’t find a comprehensive one that explains all the new stuff since 2022. Thanks!

Honestly, just jump back in and play around! I was also totally lost after some time away, but you start to get used to it. You’ll love the chaos of it all again—it’s like riding a bike!

You can use consoles to upgrade your weapons once too. Just pick your favorite gun, loot for attachments, then use the console to make your weapon better. Plus, you earn perks each game after leveling up. Keep an eye on which characters have the best perks; some are really powerful!

Good to know! I’ll definitely experiment with different characters.

So, they’ve updated the looting system! Now, instead of simple loot crates, there are these stations on the map that regenerate weapons and ammo over time. You can hit each station to grab ammo based on its type. Each one helps you upgrade a gun, but you can only use it once for the upgrade. Pretty neat, right? Oh, and don’t forget that the Bocek crossbow is grouped with the snipers!

That sounds awesome! I love the idea of being able to loot the same spot multiple times.

Or… you could quit now and save your sanity! 😂 But seriously, the ammo signs show what guns you can get, and there are mobile respawn beacons too now. The game’s really trying to shake things up since you left. Just dive in and see what you think!

It’s actually getting better! The new changes can be overwhelming, but once you get the hang of it, it’s pretty cool.

The replicator boxes are called Arsenals, and they hold all the guns of a specific ammo type. You can also upgrade your guns at these stations twice in a match—once before ring 2 or 3. The old body shields are gone and replaced with Evo shields which level up through damage, kills, and even opening special bins. You can choose new upgrades for your shields too as you progress!

Right?! It’s a huge shift from before. Gotta adapt fast!
