Hey everyone! I recently jumped into the Resident Evil franchise with the RE2 remake, and so far, I’ve only completed Leon’s storyline. I’ve seen varied opinions on what to play next—some recommend a specific order, while others say it’s fine to pick and choose. I already bought RE7, but given my experience with RE2, should I go for the RE4 remake or the RE3 remake? What do you guys think I should play next?

I’d suggest going with the RE3 remake! In my opinion, the original has some better elements, but since you played RE2, the remake fits nicely. After you finish that, hit up Code: Veronica and then RE4. You’ll love it!
If you want the true canon playthrough, you might find this order helpful: Start with Resident Evil 0, then go through the remakes and side games—RE3 can be played after RE2. Just do what feels right for you, though; every RE game can be enjoyed separately!
Honestly, you can just go straight to the RE4 remake after 2! It’s so much fun and connects directly with the new canon. You won’t regret it.
Considering how the RE3 remake is basically a DLC for RE2, I’d say go for that first. Then dive into RE4! You’ll get the most out of the experience this way.
You should definitely play the RE3 remake next! It’s a fun addition, and it’ll get you ready for RE4 after that. Trust me, you’re in for an awesome ride with this series!
Thanks for the tip! I’ve heard mixed reviews, but I’m in for the remake after I finish RE2.
