Hey everyone! I’ve been away from WoW since the Battle for Azeroth expansion back in 2018, and I’m curious about the big changes that have happened since then. I know about the level squish and I’ve seen some videos mentioning a 1-button rotation, but I’m not sure if that’s fully implemented yet. Can anyone share how much things have changed and how difficult it might be to jump back in after such a long break?

Honestly, the game has seen a lot of improvements overall. Coming back is much less punishing than it used to be. You won’t be stuck grinding azerite or legendaries like in earlier expansions, and the gameplay is way more fun now. Plus, there’s a new flying mechanic that makes exploring much more enjoyable!
For sure! And to answer your question about LFR gear, yes it’s still around and pretty accessible for new players.
The weekly vault system got a significant upgrade! Instead of a single random drop, you can now choose from up to nine items based on different content like raids, dungeons, and more, which is definitely way better. The item levels are based on how tough the content is as well, so you can target your upgrades more effectively.
Oh, there’s a lot to catch up on! For starters, they’ve removed the borrowed power systems like artifacts from the last expansion, so set gear is back. You can work towards specific set pieces, which is nice and less random than before. Plus, crafted gear is viable again and can be just below Mythic gear level. It really levels the playing field when gearing up.
Nice, that’s cool! As a crafter, how do you feel about the new profession talent trees?
It’s pretty straightforward once you get used to it! Each profession has its own talent system that makes it more rewarding to invest points.
There have been some major changes, especially with the new talent trees! Now there are three different trees: one for your class, one for your spec, and a third that opens up at level 70 offering deeper customization. It might feel overwhelming at first, but you’ll get the hang of it. Just consider checking out some guides to start with.
Yeah, flying has definitely changed! You can control your mount way better now, which is a nice touch.
