Hey everyone! I recently bought a PS5 Slim Disk Edition and after about five days of gaming, I encountered the infamous error CE-108255-1 while playing The Witcher 3. I’ve been really enjoying the console, playing around 4-5 hours almost every day, but after that one crash, I’m feeling pretty anxious about it. I’ve seen different opinions online, with some saying this error is unrecoverable and others mentioning it could just be a one-time glitch. I turned the console on again and played for about 6 hours without any issues. Should I worry about returning it under warranty even though it’s only happened once? Has anyone else experienced this where the error came up just once and didn’t happen again?

First off, take a deep breath and just relax! Crashes can happen, especially with new consoles. I’ve seen comments about the error being unrecoverable, but honestly, I think it depends on whether it keeps recurring or not. I mean, I’ve experienced crashes with my PS4 and PS5, but they don’t usually result in disaster. Just keep an eye on it, and if it only happened once, you might be okay. Don’t stress too much right now!
Honestly, I’d suggest returning it while you can. It’s a brand-new console, and if that error pops up again, it could lead to bigger issues. Some folks have reported recurring problems with that error. I get that you’re wary about service centers messing things up, but if it’s under warranty, it’s better to be safe than sorry!
I appreciate your thoughts! I’m just nervous about how common this issue is since I’ve read so many horror stories about it.
Thanks for your reassurance! After getting that error once, did it just go away for you, or did it come back at all?
