I recently got my first console, a 2025 Xbox Series X, and I’m super excited! I also picked up over 70 old games from around 2010, which I never got to play back in the day because they were too expensive for my family. However, I’m bummed to find out that many of these games aren’t supported by the backward compatibility program. I thought all games were compatible with the Series X! What are my options besides selling the Series X and looking for an old console? Some titles I’ve bought include *The Saboteur*, *Medal of Honor: Warfighter*, and several 007 games.

Honestly, don’t sell your Series X just yet! You can pick up an Xbox 360 for around $60, and it’s worth it just to play those classic titles you love. The backward compatibility program is limited now, and most of the games you’re looking to play may never be available on the newer consoles. Plus, you’ll get the benefit of playing some 360 games with better performance on the Series X if they’re compatible!
It might have been a good idea to check the backward compatibility list before snapping up all those games. A quick Google search could have saved you the trouble! But if you really want to play those titles you’re missing, getting a 360 could be your best bet.
Yeah, I agree! It wouldn’t hurt to double-check what you bought and see what’s supported before making any drastic moves.
Just keep your Series X for the many titles that will work and start looking for a cheap 360 if you want to play those classics. Just know that prices might go up as those games become rarer. You’re in a great position right now to enjoy both worlds!
You should definitely keep your Series X! It’s the most powerful game console out there right now. For those games that aren’t backward compatible, the 360 is a cheap option to grab and play those older classics. You can also check if any of the titles have received remasters; many times they’re worth the upgrade!
I’m in the same boat! I sold my Xbox One and got a 360 instead because there are so many great games I want to revisit. Most Xbox One games work on the Series X anyway, so you can safely stick with it and use the 360 for those other titles.
I got a 360 on Marketplace for about $40 with some games, and it runs them like a charm—I’m very happy with it!
