I’m planning to build a PC optimized for Linux and want to make sure I’m considering everything. Beyond just using an AMD GPU, are there specific factors I should look out for, especially regarding motherboard compatibility for WiFi and any other general advice?

When I was building my setup, I picked out all my parts first and just looked up their compatibility individually. You’d be surprised how many products work well with Linux nowadays! I did hit a snag with sensor readings, but overall, everything was fine on my end. Just be aware that not all sensors might get picked up correctly by `sensors`, but it might just be a setup issue on my part.
It’s super important to check hardware compatibility before buying anything. Make sure to verify each component you choose; you can do this easily on sites like linux-hardware.org. This will help you find out if everything will work smoothly together.
I faced a similar issue with my Nuvoton sensor. After switching to the right drivers, it started working fine. If you’re on a B550 board, it’s worth checking out the driver options like this one: github.com/Fred78290/nct6687d.
