I’ve been diving into the Half-Life universe lately, especially after playing Abiotic Factor. Even though ‘Hunt Down the Freeman’ wasn’t perfect, it really captured that eerie vibe of the post-Seven Hour War. Now, I’m keen to run a campaign that embodies that atmosphere, tailored for both beginners and seasoned players down the line. I’d love to hear your suggestions, but let’s skip on Savage Worlds and GURPS, and I already know about Twilight 2000.

Have you considered Heroes & Hardships? It’s quite underrated and offers a great universal system that might fit your needs perfectly.
I think FIST could be a solid choice for your Half-Life campaign! It has a lot of weird elements and a para-military vibe that might fit well with the setting.
Don’t forget about BRP (Basic Roleplaying)! It’s versatile and might work out for your campaign as well.
You might want to look into Slipgate Chokepoint, which is an expansion for Stay Frosty. Plus, Half-Life’s storytelling could work for multiple styles—puzzle-solving, horror, or even as a classic shooter!
While I know GURPS isn’t highly regarded here, it could really shine with ordinary characters facing extraordinary situations, handling tactical combat effectively. Just saying!
Totally agree! GURPS really excels when you blend mundane characters with bizarre creatures – and it’s great for tactical firearms combat too, honestly!
