I’m curious about which RPG system you think provides the most fluid gaming experience. I’m looking for a system with rules that allow for smooth roleplay without bogging down the game with unnecessary mechanics, yet still effectively handles encounters and skill checks. What system has given you that experience?

Honestly, the best system is the one you’re most familiar with. When you know the rules inside out, any game can feel effortless. Personally, I’d suggest checking out ‘Blades in the Dark’ or similar ‘Forged in the Dark’ systems. They minimize unnecessary rolls and use simple d6 pools, making gameplay smooth. Plus, mechanics like Flashbacks keep the focus on the moment, rather than over-planning everything.

Totally agree! ‘Blades in the Dark’ was a breeze to run. I also find ‘Mork Borg’ variants super streamlined, especially coming from D&D—it’s a quick and easy system for us.
