What PC Specs Do I Need to Stream New AAA Games to My Steam Deck on High Settings?

-

Hey folks! I’m diving into the world of streaming games from my PC to my Steam Deck, and I want to ensure that my setup can handle the latest AAA titles, like Cyberpunk 2077 and Indiana Jones, at high settings. I’m curious about the kind of PC specs I should aim for to make this work smoothly. Any tips or recommendations, especially from those of you who are currently doing something similar? Thanks a ton!

You really don’t need anything higher than a 3070 for solid performance; the Steam Deck’s low resolution helps a lot. Focus on getting a good router set up to reduce lag during streaming. A wired connection is definitely your best bet!

Absolutely! I’ve heard that other settings play a role too. What exactly should I adjust on my router to optimize streaming?

I run a desktop with an i5 12600k and RTX 4070. I can max out Cyberpunk with path tracing and still get great frames—usually above 60! The key is having a solid home network. Trust me, it feels almost like running the game locally with no noticeable lag.

Nice setup! I often game on a laptop with a 3070 Ti too, and it’s been awesome.

You can find great value in a used 3070 rig. It handles Cyberpunk’s ray tracing at the Deck’s 800p pretty well. Just keep in mind to check your internet connection speed too, as that also plays a huge role in streaming smoothly.

I’ve got a three-year-old rig that handles it fine. You might not need cutting-edge hardware, but a decent setup will definitely future-proof you a bit. For newer AAA titles with ray tracing, I’d recommend looking into at least a 4070 Super or something from the new lineup. And an AM5 compatible CPU could give you a little leeway for upgrades later. Don’t forget to check your connection quality as well!

Totally! And keep in mind that if you just want to stream without a high-end rig, services like GeForce Now can save you some serious cash.

To play those modern AAA games, I’d say go for the best components you can afford. A rig with something like the Ryzen 9 7900X3D and an RX 7900 XT would do wonders! But, honestly, if you’re streaming at 720p, an older setup might even suffice. I’ve streamed with a 3070 Ti and it works just fine!

Good point! but since Cyberpunk and Indiana Jones are more demanding, I’d suggest considering an Nvidia GPU for better compatibility.

I agree with you! I’ve streamed games to my TV using a similar build and it worked great.
