I’m searching for a game similar to The Last of Us where I can explore a post-apocalyptic city, sneaking around to gather supplies and find safe spots to stay overnight. I’m looking for gameplay that takes visibility and noise into account, but I’d prefer it to be just humans I have to worry about instead of zombies. Something that captures a desperate, survivalist vibe would be ideal. Any recommendations that fit this description, maybe something like a game adaptation of The Road?

How about looking into the *STALKER* series? It’s got humans and a lot of survival elements, but you do encounter some monsters. Still, it’s a great atmospheric experience with lots of scavenging for supplies among abandoned structures.
You might want to check out *The Long Dark*. It’s not exactly what you’re asking for since there aren’t other humans to contend with, but it’s full of survival elements with a harsh environment, dangerous wildlife, and a super atmospheric vibe. It can get pretty tense as you scavenge for food in your cabin, hoping the blizzard lets up soon!
Yeah, *The Long Dark* really nails that feeling of desperation with its limited resources and harsh conditions. It’s definitely worth a shot!
Have you tried *NEO Scavenger*? It’s quite different but might scratch that itch. It’s more hex-based navigation where you explore various environments and salvage supplies while facing threats from both wildlife and other scavengers. It can be tough but pretty rewarding!
I’ve heard good things about *NEO Scavenger*! It’s definitely on my list to try out.
For sure! *Call of Pripyat* is my favorite in that series. The world feels so alive and dangerous!
