I’m curious to hear about older games with multiplayer modes that have brought you a lot of joy. Some of my favorites include Team Fortress 2 (2007), Left 4 Dead 2 (2009), Counter-Strike: Source (2004), Halo Custom Edition (2004), and even a lesser-known title called Cube 2: Sauerbraten (2004). What about you? What pre-2015 multiplayer games do you remember having a blast with?

I had a ton of fun with Unreal Tournament and Quake 2. The sheer amount of mods for UT was outstanding! I especially loved the ballistic weapons mod for UT2k4; each server felt completely different. And Quake III with the Urban Terror mod was incredibly addictive. Such a nostalgic blast!
GoldenEye on N64 holds a special place in my heart. Slappers only matches were legendary! Such a simple time when gaming was all about local multiplayer with friends.
Yes! Those local matches were epic, especially with the no Oddjob rules. Always brings back good memories from the N64 days.
Splinter Cell’s Spies vs. Mercs was groundbreaking. I still can’t believe no one has tried to replicate that experience since. The tension and strategy involved were just next level!
Agreed! That mode in Chaos Theory was the peak of multiplayer fun. It really made you think about your moves as either a spy or a merc.
Totally agree! UT had so many mods it felt like a completely different game each time. Quake III was also a huge part of my life; the gameplay was just unmatched.
