Hey everyone! I’ve been thinking about the potential for Halo to branch out from just first-person shooters and real-time strategy games. After listening to the Meridian Divide series while playing Until Dawn, I had this idea: what if there were a game set from the perspective of civilians trying to survive during a Covenant invasion or a Flood outbreak on an ONI station? It could really showcase the terror of being an ordinary human in such chaotic scenarios. Also, what if they created a game along the lines of God of War that explores the rise of Atriox? I want to hear your ideas on what else they could experiment with!

A tactical, turn-based RPG like Fire Emblem could be really interesting! You’d have UNSC and Covenant battling it out on a grid. It might feel a bit similar to Halo Wars, but it could still offer a unique twist! Plus, a stealth game featuring a headhunter targeting priority characters would be awesome too!
How about an open-world survival game set on a glassed colony world? You could also do something like a city-builder during the Domus Diaspora or even a grand strategy game focusing on the rise of the Forerunner Ecumene. The possibilities are endless! Imagine a horror game like Alien Isolation, but featuring civilians trying to escape a colony; that could be really intense!
The idea of a survival horror game is definitely viable, especially looking at shows like “Forward Unto Dawn” where civilians felt so outmatched. It could bring a fresh perspective, along with something similar to Ace Combat for aerial battles, using the lore to tell a unique story!
I’d personally love to see a third-person action game showcasing all the amazing physical abilities of Spartans and Elites. Think ground pounds, cool melee combos, and all that jazz! FPS has its limits, but a third-person perspective could really highlight the skills these characters have.
Imagine a third-person action game like Gears of War, where you could toss grenades at Jackals and Grunts while executing an Elite. That would be epic! Or even a turn-based RPG in the style of Final Fantasy—there’s so much potential here!
Yes! That shift to horror was executed so well in that film; it really showcased the helplessness against the Covenant!
