Hey everyone! I’m trying to decide on a Linux distribution for gaming. I’m currently using Bazzite but I’m thinking about switching to Kubuntu because of its long-term support (LTS). Since I’ll be working on cruise ships, my internet connection might be sketchy, which means I can’t frequently update packages. Most of the games I’ll be playing are single-player, so I’m looking for a distro that fits this situation. Here are some of the games I’m into: Horizon Zero Dawn, Assassin’s Creed Origins, Disgaea, Dave the Diver, Shadow of Mordor, Watch Dogs, The Witcher series, Bioshock series, Cuphead, Devil May Cry series, Bayonetta, Borderlands, and Fallout 4. Any recommendations? Thanks!

You might also want to look at Nobara if you’re not super tech-savvy. It’s pretty much plug and play and I haven’t run into major issues with it. It keeps things simple, which sounds like it could work well for your situation!
Honestly, if you’re mainly gaming offline with single-player titles, sticking with Bazzite is totally fine! Unless you’re concerned about security, not updating for a while shouldn’t be a big deal. But if you feel wobbly about it, Kubuntu’s a solid pick. Just make sure to choose a distro that keeps things simple for you.
I’d suggest checking out Fedora, especially with the KDE desktop. It’s pretty solid for gaming and has a good community behind it. That said, if you’re not into frequent updates, maybe consider something like Mint or Debian for their stability.
Good call on Fedora! Just make sure you’re okay with the updates since it’s not super ‘set it and forget it’ like some others.
Yeah, I agree with that! As long as you don’t auto-update and keep an eye on when you do have a stable connection, you should be good.
