My mom doesn’t really consider herself a gamer but she spends a ton of time playing mobile games like Candy Crush Saga and word puzzles on her phone. She doesn’t even recognize it as gaming since it’s casual and on her phone, yet she plays more than I do. I’m curious—what sort of games do your parents enjoy? And do they identify as gamers or just casual players? Would love to hear the variety of games they’re into!

My dad has been hooked on Age of Empires 2 forever. It’s the one game he keeps coming back to — been playing it for over 25 years! I remember sitting beside him watching him play when I was little, and now I play it too. It’s a classic that really stands the test of time.
I’m a grandparent myself and super into gaming. I don’t have parents to report on, but I wanted to share my experience: I play a bunch of big titles like Skyrim, Stellaris, Doom, Red Dead Redemption 2, and some classics I keep replaying. I definitely consider it gaming, and it’s a great way to unwind. Really shows that gaming is ageless!
My mom’s usually into word games like scrabble online—not Words with Friends but classic scrabble—and can spend hours there. Also really into mobile farming games and some quirky stuff like Ace Attorney and Katamari. She’s definitely into gaming but just on her own chill terms.
My dad’s a huge fan of a bunch of games: he’s got thousands of hours in Ark, loves TCG Simulator, and was playing Dynasty Warriors Origins recently. He’s always showing me new stuff and it’s a cool bond we share.
My dad loves chaos in GTA V and gets hours in there just running around causing havoc. Meanwhile, my mom is more into casual mobile games, mostly farming sims and the usual puzzle stuff. They both seem to enjoy gaming but come at it from very different angles.
