Hey everyone! I’m looking to upgrade the GPU in my HP Pavilion Gaming Desktop TG01-2xxx. I’ve already made some upgrades like increasing my RAM from 8GB to 16GB and adding extra SSD storage. My current setup features an AMD Ryzen 5 5600G processor and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 SUPER (4GB). I’m aiming for a GPU that will allow me to enjoy higher graphics settings in games and be ready for future AAA titles without going overboard. I’m considering two options: the ASUS Dual Nvidia GeForce RTX 3050 6GB OC Edition and the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 12GB. I’d love advice on compatibility with my current CPU and motherboard, as well as any recommendations you might have!

Honestly, the Ryzen 5 5600G is a surprisingly capable CPU! It really depends on your budget, but I’d advise against the 3050—it just doesn’t provide good value for what you pay. Instead, consider the RTX 3060; it’s still solid. Also, I’d suggest looking into AMD cards like the RX 6700 XT or RX 6750 XT if you’re open to those; they come with benefits like Smart Access Memory, which is a great way to future-proof your rig!
Haha, I feel you on the VRAM situation! Thanks for that tip about AMD; I’m so used to the NVIDIA setup but I can deal with a bit of change for better performance. Trying to keep it under $300 though!
