Imagine you’re stuck in bed for 8 weeks with broken legs and just a Steam Deck to keep you entertained. What games would you instantly throw into your cart? I want suggestions based on your personal favorites that would help pass the time swiftly. For context, I have Skyrim, RDR1 and RDR2, some Fallout titles, Half-Life, Doom games, and The Walking Dead episodes. I’m currently enjoying GTA IV and V, Detroit: Become Human, and Yakuza 0, but I’m looking for titles with great replayability similar to Minecraft. What do you recommend?

You should definitely check out “Oblivion Remastered” and “Baldur’s Gate 3.” Either of those can easily keep you busy for weeks! Just be wary about performance on the Steam Deck for Oblivion; I’ve heard some mixed reviews about it.
But just a heads up, BG3 can be kind of tricky to manage without a mouse, navigating through menus is a bit of a hassle.
You might also want to consider indie gems like “Dead Cells,” “Spiritfarer,” or “Slay the Spire.” They’re all engaging and super enjoyable on the Steam Deck, plus they have high replay value!
Good call! Adding “Balatro” to that list is a must; it’s such a fun twist on deck-building!
Hey, think about “Crusader Kings 3” too! You could potentially fit in two runs during your recovery. It’s super engaging and you can lose yourself in the politics and medieval shenanigans.
I love CK3 but prefer to play it on my laptop. How’s it handling on the Steam Deck with all the menus?
If you’re looking for games that offer hundreds of hours of gameplay, give “Stellaris” or “Satisfactory” a shot. Stellaris can take a while to grasp, but it’s addicting once you’re in. And don’t underestimate Satisfactory; you can easily get lost building factories for days!
Haha, ‘slightly’ large factories end up being massive! But yeah, they can be a blast!
Totally agree! Oblivion is a classic and with all the mods available, it’s like a new game. Also, you don’t need to play the earlier Baldur’s Gate games to enjoy BG3, but it helps with the lore!
