I’m curious about which games you’ve played that started off really enjoyable but lost your interest as you went along, yet you pushed through to see how they ended. Personally, I found Oblivion Remastered to fit that bill. I missed the hype when it first came out, and I’ve always found the Elder Scrolls games a bit dull in terms of both story and gameplay.

Final Fantasy 16 was a rollercoaster for me. The intro was amazing, but around the ten-hour mark, the combat got really stale, and I found the side quests pretty lackluster. Still, I pushed through for the big moments at the end!
Same! I was really hoping for more depth in the combat—it felt repetitive after a few encounters.
Assassin’s Creed Valhalla comes to mind. The game had some great moments, but honestly, it felt like a drag after a while. I don’t even bother waiting for the endings anymore since they all feel similar.
Totally! I think that can be said for every Assassins Creed game. If you powered through Valhalla, you’ve got more patience than I do!
Arkham Knight felt like that for me. I wanted to finish the series and see how it concluded. About halfway through, though, the gameplay didn’t evolve much and just turned into repetitive tasks. The ending was decent, but getting there felt like a chore.
I had a similar experience with South Park: The Fractured But Whole. It kicked off with a lot of fun and humor, but as the story progressed, it felt overly convoluted and just dragged on. The gameplay started to feel repetitive, but I’d still say it’s worth finishing for the experience!
An unpopular opinion, but I felt the same about Far Cry 5. It was entertaining at first, but it became quite repetitive and stretched out. Just felt endlessly long without enough exciting moments.
You’re not alone! I was baffled by folks calling it Game of the Year. I gave up around 20 hours in because it just dragged on.
