I’m on the lookout for turn-based games that focus more on strategic interactions between characters, similar to Clair Obscur. I’m not interested in just dodging or jumping around; I want to set up my companions and build power across turns until I can unleash some big spells. I’ve played Baldur’s Gate 3 on easy, but the fights felt lengthy and I didn’t get to explore how deep the turn-based mechanics are. Are there other games that offer a similar depth rather than just relying on spamming powerful spells to whittle down enemy HP?

If you enjoyed the mechanics in Clair Obscur, you should definitely check out Metaphor ReFantazio. It has a deep system that doesn’t allow you to tank hits mindlessly due to its elemental resistance and press turn mechanics similar to the SMT series. Plus, the Persona games are worth exploring too!
