I’m curious to hear your thoughts on game series that ended prematurely and left their storylines hanging. For me, I was really disappointed with titles like Baldur’s Gate: Dark Alliance 3 and Knights of the Old Republic 3. What about you? Which series left you feeling unsatisfied?

I’d say the reboot of Deus Ex is one of those major disappointments. They created such a rich universe, but then Square Enix just dropped the ball, leaving a ton of unanswered questions. I was really looking forward to a third game to tie everything up, but it feels like we might never get a resolution on that storyline.
Exactly! I loved the reboot and was really invested in the characters. It just seemed so abrupt.
You can’t forget about MegaMan Legends 2! Leaving Rock floating alone in space for so long is just cruel. I played it recently, and it’s like they’ve hit the pause button on this poor guy’s fate.
I played it when it came out too, and I’m still waiting for a proper sequel. It’s maddening!
I remember the hype around Mega Man Legends 3 too— what a letdown when that got canceled.
Golden Sun is another one that left me hanging. I enjoyed the first two games so much, but after that abrupt ending, I felt like I was playing an unfinished game. It had so much potential for more storytelling!
So true! It was like they just decided to stop mid-story without any real explanation.
It’s almost criminal we haven’t seen more from such a great RPG series! That cliffhanger was infuriating.
Totally agree! I felt the same way about the last mission; it just ended, and I was left thinking, ‘where’s the rest of the story?’. So frustrating.
