I’m curious to hear from everyone about the games or series that left a mark on you during your childhood. For me, growing up with Call of Duty, especially Black Ops 1, was a blast! The game felt revolutionary compared to earlier titles with its customizable characters, unique emblems, and innovative streaks. The Zombies mode was super engaging, and other game modes like Gun Game added so much fun. Looking back, I’m really thankful I got to experience it all when I had the time to really dive in. What about you?

I gotta give a shoutout to Timesplitters. It was one of the few games that let you create your own maps. I loved the creativity it encouraged! It really sparked my interest in mapping for other games like MOHAA later on. Plus, Tony Hawk Pro Skater had a similar vibe with user-created content, just iconic!
Final Fantasy really changed my life, especially the music! Nobuo Uematsu is an incredible composer, and tracks like ‘To Zanarkand’ are just so hauntingly beautiful. They resonate with me on a different level, and they really opened my eyes to the emotional depth that video game music can have. Anyone else feel the same?
Absolutely agree! Final Fantasy IV started my love for RPGs, and the music was just on another level.
FF VI to X had such a great run for the series. The storytelling and character moments were unforgettable!
As a long-time gamer, I hold many games dear, but especially the Final Fantasy series from FF6 to 10. They were regarded as the golden era of JRPGs for a reason. The music, art, and stories were just classic. Other titles that shaped my gaming life were Castlevania, Metroid, and of course, the Pokémon series. So many memories!
Same here! Those games not only defined a generation but also our understanding of storytelling in games.
Tony Hawk was where it’s at! Those games had such amazing soundtracks too.
