We often remember the epic battles and grand victories in games, but what about those quieter, unexpected moments that hit you right in the feels? I’m talking about scenes or gameplay that transcended mere fun and connected with you on a deeper level. Personally, in Red Dead Redemption 2, there’s a heart-wrenching scene where Arthur watches the sunrise, reflecting on his past choices, and it feels like a genuine farewell. What about you? What moments from games touched you in ways that other stories or mediums couldn’t?

Most recently, I was really moved by the line, ‘For those who come after… right?’ It just resonated with the idea of legacy and sacrifice.
I felt the same. But to me, it was actually Renoir’s last words to Maele after their battle — it was such a well-written character arc!
Kingdom Hearts 2 strikes a chord with me. Growing up, my best friend faced real hardships, and he found hope in those games. When I played KH2 and saw the friendship between Sora and Riku, everything clicked and I couldn’t stop crying. It was profound.
For me, it had to be ‘It had to be me. Someone else might have gotten it wrong.’ It has that badass vibe, but what really got me was when Arthur says, ‘I have a home.’ Those lines just hit different.
Definitely strong lines! But for me, the end scene of Horizon: Zero Dawn was infuriating when you learn about Ted Faro’s actions. I was seriously angry.
Oh man, that part gets me every time, especially when she screams, ‘You promised!’ I can’t hold back the tears then.
