I’m curious, what game do you desperately want to love but just can’t seem to get into? For me, it’s Planet Zoo. Growing up, I was a huge fan of Zoo Tycoon, and I had high hopes for Planet Zoo. However, the overwhelming customization options and the lack of prebuilt structures can be pretty intimidating. Plus, the freeform nature of paths and barriers just turns the experience into a frustrating task for me.

I’ve really tried to get into Baldur’s Gate 3. On paper, it checks all the boxes for what I love in games, yet something just doesn’t click. Maybe it’s that I don’t feel immersed in the world as much as I expected, which kind of takes away from my enjoyment.
I’ve been there too! I loved D:OS2, but BG3 felt a bit off, like it didn’t capture the D&D essence properly.
For me, it’s Outer Wilds. I absolutely love the concept, but playing it feels like wrestling with a jigsaw puzzle where you have no idea what the final picture looks like. With limited gaming time, I often struggle to make meaningful connections in the game.
I hear you! The ship’s log helps, but without dedicated playtime, I can see how it would feel daunting.
Exactly! Games that require a lot of connections can be a pain if you’re not able to dive in consistently.
Red Dead Redemption 2 is another one I want to love. The first one was amazing, but the sequel had me feeling restricted. The game penalizes you for straying off the marked path during missions, which just kills that sense of open-world adventure I loved in the first.
I completely relate! I couldn’t get through it either. It felt less like an adventure and more like a chore.
Same! The first one was full of freedom, but the sequel had me feeling like it was holding my hand too much.
That’s interesting! I felt the same way! If you want a similar vibe, give Divinity: Original Sin 2 a shot. It really hooked me!
