Have you ever had a gaming experience where a bug or glitch completely halted your progress? Maybe it was a boss door that refused to open, or a crucial item that never spawned. Share your stories of these frustrating moments and how, if at all, you managed to overcome them or if they stopped you playing the game completely.

Bethesda games, particularly Skyrim, would often crash due to myriad mods causing instability. The only real solution is to disable each mod one by one to identify and remove the culprit.
In Witcher 3, there was a point where I couldn’t enter Temple Isle due to a former quest as Ciri. I couldn’t proceed anymore until I used the dev console to teleport and bypass the glitch.
In Quest for Glory V, I accidentally stranded myself on an island by misusing a teleportation item that’s impossible to retrieve. Without a previous save or modding the game, I had no choice but to start all over.
I ran into a deadly bug on the Xbox version of War in the North where I couldn’t load my save about 75% through the game. It was absolutely frustrating, with no option but to start over. The bummer is that even if you restart, there’s always a chance for the bug to hit again. I played it so many times, hoping they’d patch it, but I don’t think they ever did, or at least I didn’t have any way to download it back then.
Star Citizen tends to break on its own just by playing. It’s kind of a standard issue at this point with numerous crashes and bugs happening frequently.
Cyberpunk 2077 was nearly unplayable upon release due to the overwhelming number of bugs. I tried it on the Series S and luckily didn’t have too many severe issues, but I know others weren’t as fortunate on different platforms.
Final Fantasy Tactics Advance was notorious for one mission where you only have your main character, making it a grind. I exploited it by defeating an unnecessary enemy which let my character’s turn repeat infinitely, allowing me to farm XP and power level substantially.
In LotR: War in the North, there’s a bug where crucial scrolls never drop, even though they’re supposed to be guaranteed after a certain mission. I love the game, but this bug stopped me from getting 100% completion no matter how many times I restarted. They just never fixed it.
I experience something similar with Tomb Raider on PS3. I collected every item but one collectible never registered. After checking online and finding no confirmed bugs, it was really frustrating not being able to complete it fully due to what seemed like a glitch.
