So here’s a fun thought experiment: if you could design your perfect VR headset without any restrictions, what would you include? I’ve been on the hunt for the ideal headset but haven’t found one that fits my needs yet. What about you?
For me, I’d prefer a straightforward design that focuses on audio-visual clarity; I don’t want any mixed reality features or built-in processing. Just give me a solid screen and a reliable way to track my controllers. If we’re getting into the fun stuff, it’d be awesome if it could work well in the dark and had a super wide field of view without any blurring. Just some daydreaming here!

Sounds like you’re describing the Bigscreen Beyond! Just keep in mind, it can be pricey and requires a custom fit.
How about an omnidirectional fan? It could blast air based on your movement direction to simulate acceleration and help with motion sickness—definitely a game-changer!
If we’re daydreaming here, I’d want high-res OLED panels with a 150-160 ° FOV, over 120 Hz refresh rate, lightweight carbon fiber build, and both wired and wireless options. Oh, and custom face cushions for comfort while using SteamVR!
I’d throw in some awesome connecting gloves that let you fully use your hands. Think zippers for each finger to match the in-game movements perfectly!
