I really wish The Sims had a feature where you could cook food for a specific number of Sims at once. Right now, if I want to make breakfast for two Sims, I either have to cook a single serving twice and risk someone eating the other, or make a big batch that might go bad in the fridge if I forget about it. It would be awesome if the “serve meal” option automatically matched the number of Sims in the household or group. Does anyone else wish for this, or any other cooking improvements in future Sims updates?

There used to be mods that let you cook exactly for the number of Sims you want, but they sometimes broke other cooking stuff like making sumptuous grand meals, so I ended up ditching them. Also, for console players like me, mods aren’t even an option which makes this kind of feature definitely something I’d love to see officially added.
I usually just cook large batches so my Sims can eat leftovers over a couple of days. It tends to work out pretty well because sometimes they even choose to eat together around the table, which is a nice touch.
I get where you’re coming from. I hate when Sims just grab food from the fridge while someone else is cooking a family meal. It would be way better if the ‘serve meal’ option automatically called everyone to eat together, instead of the cook just grabbing a plate and wandering off. Plus sometimes Sims won’t even eat when they’re hungry, which is super frustrating. And the fact that the ‘Call to Meal’ option includes your sim is annoying since they already serve themselves if they’re hungry. Ideally, this could be streamlined to only call the other Sims so you don’t have to cancel duplicate actions.
Yeah, this really bugs me too! My go-to is to make a family-sized meal and stick the leftovers in the fridge, but I often forget and the food ends up going bad. It would be great if there was a way to customize servings or better manage leftovers so food doesn’t spoil as easily.
